Sheer Khurma Sweet Recipe

Ramadan is a special month for Muslims worldwide, and many traditional sweet desserts are enjoyed during this time. Here is a recipe for one such dessert, called "Sheer Khurma," which is popular in many parts of the Muslim world during Ramadan:

Sheer Khurma Sweet Recipe

Ingredients:
  1. 1-liter full-fat milk
  2. 1/2 cup vermicelli
  3. 1/4 cup ghee
  4. 1/2 cup sugar (or to taste)
  5. 1/4 cup chopped dates
  6. 1/4 cup chopped almonds
  7. 1/4 cup chopped pistachios
  8. 1/4 cup raisins
  9. 1/2 teaspoon cardamom powder
  10. A pinch of saffron
  11. 1 tablespoon rose water
Instructions:

In a large saucepan, heat the ghee over medium heat. Add the vermicelli and fry until it turns golden brown.
Add the milk to the pan and bring it to a boil, stirring occasionally.
Reduce the heat to low and add the sugar, dates, almonds, pistachios, raisins, cardamom powder, and saffron to the pan. Stir well and let it simmer for 10-15 minutes, or until the vermicelli is cooked and the milk has thickened.
Turn off the heat and stir in the rose water.
Let the Sheer Khurma cool down to room temperature and then refrigerate until ready to serve.
Garnish with additional chopped nuts and a sprinkle of cardamom powder before serving.
